Launching a Legacy
Our Dream. Our Commitment. Our Future.
The Launching a Legacy Campaign is an energized effort to enhance the South Milwaukee School District's sports complex and the City of South Milwaukee by preserving and strengthening one of the great assets in the community. When finished, our playing fields will honor the area's past while establishing a continuing legacy for the future. Students, community members, and visitors to the city will realize a greater appreciation for events, the legends that have unfolded in these special places. Supporting the Launching a Legacy Campaign will give South Milwaukee students and the community modernized turf fields for decades to come.

Help rebuild our track
The School District of South Milwaukee is naming our new track after longtime track and field coaches Stan Druckrey and Mark Hoffman.
The Launching a Legacy campaign is celebrating their careers by offering their former students and the community a fundraising challenge - a 4X400 donation relay race, Druckrey versus Hoffman.
1. Every $50 contributed toward a coach’s team is worth 1 meter
2. each leg of the relay is worth $20,000
3. first team to $80K wins!
Leg 1 - June 1
Leg 2 - July 1
Leg 3 - August 1
Leg 4 (finish line) - September 1
If both teams meet their challenge, $160,000 will have been raised toward the $3.8 million cost of the Field Surface Improvement Project. Donors can also join the $1,000 club, with a note to have their donation credited for 20 meters for Team Druckrey or Team Hoffman, with the added bonus of getting into all home SM athletic contests for a lifetime.
The proposed rejuvenated field will be the centerpiece of the district's athletic life and is the largest part of a broad effort to refresh the football, softball and baseball fields with turf. The track will be resurfaced, too.
The refurbished fields mean more activities like soccer games, marching band competitions, cheer and Poms events can be held in Bucyrus Stadium.
